First of all, bearings are mainly divided into ball bearings, sliding bearings and needle roller bearings. When selecting gear lubricating grease, we need to consider their working environment and temperature requirements during operation.
The working temperature of the bearing is divided into external temperature and internal temperature: the external temperature refers to the temperature outside the equipment, while the internal temperature refers to the working temperature of the product application position.
Some bearings are not covered and protected by bearing caps. For these exposed bearings, the external working environment and the pollution of lubricating grease need to be considered when selecting lubricating grease.
Bearing grease is the grease used on the bearing. Its purpose is to form a thin oil film between the rolling surface and sliding surface of the bearing to prevent direct contact between metal and metal, so as to reduce internal friction and wear of the bearing and prevent burning. The effect of bearing grease on the bearing is as follows:
1. Reduce friction and wear: in the bearing ring. The mutual contact parts of the rolling body and the retainer prevent metal contact and reduce friction. Wear and tear.
2. Extended fatigue life: the rotation fatigue life of the bearing is extended if the rolling contact surface is well lubricated during rotation. On the contrary, if the oil viscosity is low and the oil film thickness is not good, it will be shortened.
3. The friction heat is discharged. Cooling: the circulating oil feeding method can use oil to discharge the heat generated by friction or the heat transmitted from the outside to achieve the cooling effect. Prevent overheating of bearing and aging of lubricating oil.
4. Others: prevent foreign matters from entering the bearing or rusting. Corrosion effect.
The damage caused by insufficient lubrication has a great difference in appearance and influences bearing performance. In all cases, the grease quantity, type, grade, viscosity, additives, and supply system must be properly designed for the bearing system. Grease shall be selected according to historical experience, load, speed, sealing system, service conditions, and expected life. If these factors are not properly considered, the bearing performance and application effect may be lower than expected.
