UCP208 bearing is a complete sealed bearing and cast iron housing unit. It is one of the most economical and common bearings used in many machinery applications, that fits onto a 40mm shaft, secured by 2 grub screws.
It has a base plate length of 180mm and a base width of 52mm. The distance from base to shaft center is 49.2mm, with the distance through the bore of 49.2 mm. The overall height of the unit is 98mm.
The bearing used within the assembly is UC208 and the casting has part no. P208 The center distance of the mounting bolts is approx 136mm. With elongated holes for ease of fit.
1. Before installing the pillow block bearing on the shaft, you must first unplug the fixing pin of the bearing jacket, and at the same time polish, the surface of the journal smoothly and clean, and apply oil to the journal to prevent rust and lubricate (allow the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).
2. Apply lubricating oil on the mating surface of the bearing seat and the bearing and install the bearing into the bearing housing. Then put the assembled bearing on the shaft together with the bearing seat. Push to the desired location for installation.
3. Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat but allow the bearing housing to rotate in the bearing seat. Also, install the bearing and seat on the other end of the same shaft, rotate the shaft a few times, and let the bearing itself automatically find its position. Then tighten the bearing seat bolts.
4. Install the eccentric sleeve. First, put the eccentric sleeve on the eccentric step of the bearing inner sleeve, and tighten it by hand in the direction of rotation of the shaft. Then insert the small iron rod into or against the counterbore on the eccentric sleeve. Knock the small iron rod along the axis of rotation with a hand hammer. Install the eccentric sleeve firmly, and finally tighten the hexagon socket screws on the eccentric sleeve.
